A pianist who steadfastly refuses to be labeled, boxed, categorized or pigeon-holed, Lee Sloan’s playing reflects an astonishing diversity of influences and a command of styles that flow in a virtual torrent of ideas and emotional intensity.
The result is a juxtaposition of stark contrasts, where bold predictive lines are continuously interspersed with searching reflections.
A native of the USA, Sloan was a fixture on the New York City music scene for more than ten years before moving to Europe, where he has lived in the UK, France and Germany, performing extensively as a soloist and ensemble leader.
